The City of Sisseton has some of their own laws pertaining to youth. These are the ordinances related to curfew.

Curfew

9.16.010 - Persons under seventeen (17) years of age.

It shall be unlawful for persons under the age of seventeen (17) to be upon the public streets or in any public place, whether or not in a vehicle, between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. of the next morning on Friday and Saturday nights and between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. the next morning on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.

9.16.020 - Persons over seventeen (17) years of age but under eighteen (18) years of age.

It is unlawful for any person over the age of seventeen (17) years but under eighteen (18) years of age to be upon the public streets or in any public place, whether or not in a vehicle, between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. of the next morning on Friday and Saturday nights and between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. the next morning on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.

9.16.030 - Enforcement—Penalties.

It shall be the duty of the police officers of the city to enforce the provisions of this chapter. Violation of this chapter shall be punishable by a fine of up to one hundred dollars ($100.00) and imprisonment for up to thirty (30) days.

9.16.040 - Exceptions.

No person shall be in violation of the foregoing chapter by the reason of being: 

A. In a public place for purposes of employment;

B. In a public place for purposes of going to or coming home from any church, school or work activity by the most direct route.
